The Fates are mythological archetypes representing 1: the onset of existence, 2: the lifespan, 3: the end. The Fates could not be manipulated because they had neither the conviction, nor the capability to interfere in the workings of existence in any way.

Apollo was given nectar and ambrosia (food and drink of the Gods) after he was born, because Leto couldn't nurse him (Apollo was born nine nights, and nine days after Artemis, and Leto was in excruciating pain. Hera had kept her daughter, Eileithyia, the Goddess of Childbirth, away from Delos after Artemis was born. Artemis came relatively quickly and easily. Artemis also stepped up to help deliver her twin. The other Goddesses begged Hera to let Eileithyia come onto Delos, and she reluctantly agreed. As soon as Eileithyia stepped foot on Delos, Apollo was born very quickly after that, but Leto's exhaustion prevented her from being able to nurse her son). After eating and drinking the nectar and ambrosia, Apollo very quickly became fully grown, minutes after he was born. He killed Python when he was only 4 days old, but fully grown. That's why all depictions of that event has Apollo fully grown, even though he was only born 4 days previously.

Thank you so much for this video. Hera is my favorite Greek goddess, and she is definitely misunderstood in today's world. However, if I had to add anything that would make this video even better, it would be why Hera married Zeus in the first place. This is a major reason why I started rooting for Hera. In myth, Zeus often fails to court Hera, so he disguises himself as an injured cuckoo bird. Hera took pity on him and began comforting him in her arms; as she cradled him, he took hold of her bosom and began having his way with her. Hera married Zeus to protect her dignity and cover her shame. This is important because it makes me see her vengeful, vindictive nature as a woman who is terribly hurt and vulnerable. She married the man who violated her, and then he proceeded to cheat on her with others as well, treating her more like trash. In early tales of Zeus's infidelities, she is rather benevolent. In the case of Io, Zeus presumably had his way with her, too, and he turned her into a cow to hide her from Hera and said he wanted to surprise her with a gift. Hera saw through his deceit and accepted the cow, knowing it was actually her lonely priestess, Io. Hera made the cow her sacred symbol and was her true symbol before the peacock and Alexander the Great. Hera went so far as to order Argus, her most trusted and loyal servant and guard, to guard Io with his life from Zeus. For a vindictive woman, this sounds like she was protecting her priestess and treating her with the respect she deserved. Many people ask, "Why did Hera never divorce Zeus?" Many will say, "Because she is meant to symbolize marriage, women had no rights, only the man could seek divorce, blah, blah blah." The real answer? Hera tried. In the myth of Hera's rebellion, she planned to overthrow Zeus and then divorce him. Hera gathers the other Olympians, and while Zeus lies sleeping, due to being drugged by Hera and/or Aphrodite, they tie him to the bed and steal his thunderbolt. A loyal servant of his unties him and regains his bolt. As punishment for her rebellion, Zeus chains Hera to a rock and tortures her by tying anvils to her feet, if I remember correctly. She cries in pain all night, in some versions several, and Zeus only frees her because her crying kept him from sleeping. He made her promise never to rebel again, including never divorcing him. In some versions, Hephaestus frees her out of pity for his mother. (Some people do not know this, but Hera apologizes for throwing Hephesuts away. They grow closer after Hera is set free from Hephestus' trap in another myth, and she apologizes. But in other stories, it was never Hera; it was Zeus, and he blamed Hephaestus' deformities on Hera because he is a prideful dick.) Anyway, this story is really where Hera's benevolence ends, and she becomes the evil stepmother character. As you mentioned, this is also around the time when Zeus gets his own temple, around 500 years after Hera gets hers. And her temple still dwarves his ironically. Is there a historical reason behind Hera's behavior? As you describe in the video, a patriarchal society character assassinated her. Do you want a canon reason behind the character change in the context of the stories? Zeus's abuse drives her mad.

The Labrys is equivalent to the red Disc of the Life Force, sometimes called the Aten disc, which appears cradled within of the horns of Goddesses like Isis. Why I say it's the same is that it is the Labrys which is also found between the horns of the Minoan Bull. The Labrys symbolises equal yet opposite forces, like the Yin and Yang. They join together in the center, which is a shaft. If we compare the imagery of the caduceus, the parallels become clear in the mind's eye. There is no doubt that the Sun was given the same importance as the Moon by our early ancestors, as both planetary bodies regulate life on earth and indeed make it possible. However in my opinion the physical sun was symbolic of the generative Life Force. It wasn't the Sun or the Moon which was worshiped but rather the unseen forces behind them, which in turn were personified as the God and the Goddess. As far as the original Minoan culture being warlike there isn't much evidence of mass warfare or fortifications there or in other in earlier cultures such as those mentioned in the video. So while I agree that in every culture there's a need to maintain order and guard against threats, the later warrior cultures such as the Dorians and Achaeans introduced large standing armies and focused on conquest and slavery which again doesn't feature in pre-patriarchal society. After all where there is balance and equality, there isn't any racism either, as is apparent from the wonderful nature centered artworks of Crete. Patriarchal, warlike culture always dismisses or devalues the Divine Feminine and by extension, woman, which causes a fundamental imbalance and has proven to be a big mistake if you look at the problems we face in the world of today Thank you so much for the video ~ really much appreciated.

Like all ancient pre-patriarchal people, the duality of the Labrys symbol was the same as that of the Yin and Yang, or moon/sun, female/masculine etc. In other words it comprises of two equal pyramidions, joined at the shaft. The labrys is also symbolic of a butterfly, which has obvious connotations with spiritual rebirth, or the dual currents of life and death. The encircled cross appears throughout very ancient history. There is even one which dates back to I don't know when in South Africa, carved into granite. It is often referred to as the Solar Cross or Celtic Cross and represents the solstices and equinoxes. It is encircled like all other magical signs as the circle is that from which all geometry is based. The circle is symbolic of infinity and the cyclical progression of time and seasons and thus, derives from the Ouroboros serpent. Thank you for the video!
